Overall Performance
The overall pass percentage for CBSE Class 12 students this year stood at 88.39%, indicating a consistent performance compared to previous years. Out of the 17,04,367 students who had registered, 16,92,794 appeared for the exams, and 14,96,307 successfully passed.
Girls Outshine Boys—Again
One of the most notable highlights of the results is that girls have once again outperformed boys — and by a significant margin.
- Girls’ pass percentage: 91.64%
- Boys’ pass percentage: 85.70%
- Gender gap in performance: 5.94%
This continues a trend observed in recent years, where female students have shown higher academic achievement in the CBSE examinations.
Top-Performing Regions
The results also revealed strong regional performances, with Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh emerging as the top-performing region with a 99.60% pass rate.

- Chennai (Tamil Nadu): 97.39%
- Bengaluru (Karnataka): 95.95%

- Prayagraj: 79.53%
These results reflect the strong educational frameworks and student dedication across these regions.
Exam Timeline & Scale
The CBSE board exams were conducted from February 15 to April 4, 2025. Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, while Class 12 examinations continued till April 4.
In total, around 44 lakh students appeared for both Class 10 and Class 12 exams combined — a massive academic exercise spanning several weeks and thousands of examination centers.
