A keyword search using the terms “Rani Mukerji Rajdeep Sardesai” on YouTube led to the full version of the interaction uploaded on India Today’s official channel on October 3, 2025.
The video is titled:
“Rani Mukerji on National Award & Mardaani’s Real-Life Hero | India Today Conclave 2025 Mumbai.”
In the video, Mukerji discusses her career, her recent National Award win for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, and her experiences working on the Mardaani series where she plays a fearless police officer.
During the conversation, Sardesai playfully asked if Mukerji would like to reprise her Mardaani role for the audience. He volunteered to act as a goon, setting up a fun reenactment. At the 32:11 timestamp, Mukerji delivered her lines in character, commanding Sardesaiji to “sit down quietly” as the audience laughed and applauded. The exchange was clearly scripted and performed for entertainment, not a real altercation.

False. The clip does not show Rani Mukerji scolding Rajdeep Sardesai; it’s from a staged act, not a real incident. The viral video is misleading. False.
