After offering tributes, Prime Minister Modi said it was a privilege to visit Vajpayee’s memorial on his birth anniversary. He described Vajpayee as a leader who dedicated his entire life to public service, good governance, and nation-building.

“His personality, leadership, and work will continue to inspire the nation,” Modi said, adding that Vajpayee would always be remembered as a brilliant orator and a gifted poet whose ideas remain relevant to India’s development.

Good Governance Day

December 25 is observed as Good Governance Day by the government to honour Vajpayee’s contributions to public administration and democratic values. The BJP marked the occasion with remembrance events across the country, involving Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, MPs, and party leaders.

A Statesman Who Shaped Modern India

Born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as India’s 13th Prime Minister, holding office for three terms between 1996 and 2004. He passed away on August 16, 2018, in New Delhi.

Vajpayee is widely credited with strengthening India’s economic growth and infrastructure. Major initiatives during his tenure included the expansion of national highways, rural roads, telecommunications, and other key infrastructure projects.

His leadership also marked defining moments in India’s strategic history, including Operation Vijay during the Kargil conflict and India’s emergence as a nuclear weapons power.

A Life of Public Service

With a parliamentary career spanning over four decades, Vajpayee was elected nine times to the Lok Sabha and twice to the Rajya Sabha. Rising from modest beginnings, he became one of India’s most respected leaders.

He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1992 and later the Bharat Ratna in 2015 for his lifelong dedication to the nation. Vajpayee consistently championed democratic values, women’s empowerment, and social equality, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape India’s political and governance landscape.

Good day! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
