The channel states explicitly that it’s content is satirical, and also adds a text in the caption which statesVideo shows US President Donald Trump announcing a new executive order banning hiring of Indian customer service

Claim: A viral video shows former U.S. President Donald Trump announcing an executive order banning Indian customer service representatives in the U.S.

Fact Check: False. The video is from a satirical YouTube channel, Sobering Satire, and features a voice-over impersonation of Trump. AI was used to alter visuals, making it appear as if Trump made the statement.

Our Investigation

A video circulating on social media claims that Donald Trump has signed an executive order banning Indian customer service representatives. The clip shows Trump speaking at a press conference, seemingly announcing that “foreigners with thick accents” would no longer be allowed in U.S. customer service roles.

However, after conducting a reverse image search and analyzing the video, we found that it originates from a satirical YouTube channel called Sobering Satire, known for posting conservative political parody content.

Key Findings:

✅ The Sobering Satire YouTube channel explicitly mentions that the video is satirical, featuring a Trump impersonator for the voice-over.
✅ AI was used to modify Trump’s lip movements, creating a deepfake-like effect.
✅ The original footage was taken from a real press conference held by Trump at a GOP governors’ dinner at Mar-a-Lago on January 10, 2025.

✅ Nowhere in the original video does Trump mention banning Indian customer service representatives.
✅ AI and deepfake detection tools confirmed that while the voice was human-made, some facial alterations were detected in the video.

Furthermore, Trump has a history of mocking Indian call center representatives, as he did during a 2016 campaign rally, but he also described India as a “great place” in the same speech.

Conclusion:

The viral video is satirical and does not depict a real statement by Donald Trump. The claim that Trump has signed an executive order banning Indian customer service representatives is false.
