Fact Check: Is the Government Offering Free Laptops Under National Student Laptop Scheme 2026?Fact Check: Is the Government Offering Free Laptops Under National Student Laptop Scheme 2026?

Claim

A message circulating on WhatsApp and social media platforms claims that the Government of India is offering free laptops to students under a program called the “National Student Laptop Scheme 2026.” The message includes a link directing users to submit personal information, including their name, educational details, and other personal data, to supposedly apply for the scheme. It also claims that more than 9.6 lakh students will receive free laptops in 2026.

Fact Check

the Government of India has not announced any scheme called the “National Student Laptop Scheme 2026.” The viral message is fake and misleading.

What Factcheck India Found?

  • No such laptop distribution scheme has been launched by the Government of India.
  • The circulating WhatsApp message is fake.
  • Citizens should avoid clicking on unknown or suspicious links.
  • Personal information should not be shared on unverified websites.
  • Users should verify government-related announcements through official sources before sharing them.

Similar False Claims Have Surfaced Before

This is not the first time such claims have appeared online. We have noted that similar messages promoting free laptop schemes have circulated in the past and were also declared fake. Previous fact-checks issued in January and April 2026 similarly confirmed that no nationwide government laptop distribution scheme under this name exists.

The recurrence of such messages highlights how fraudsters often recycle misleading claims to attract clicks and gather user information.

How to Identify Such Scams

Students and parents should be cautious if a message:

  • Promises free government benefits without official notification.
  • Requests personal information through unofficial websites.
  • Uses urgent language encouraging immediate registration.
  • Contains suspicious or shortened web links.
  • Lacks references to official government portals.

Government schemes are typically announced through official ministries, government websites, and verified social media accounts.

Conclusion

The claim that the Government of India is accepting applications under a “National Student Laptop Scheme 2026” is false. PIB Fact Check has confirmed that no such scheme has been announced. Users are advised not to click on suspicious links or share personal information through unverified websites. Factcheck India warns that such messages may be designed to collect personal or financial information from unsuspecting users through fraudulent websites and links.

Always review cashier terms for both deposits and withdrawals, as policies can vary on the same platform. However, specific casinos or payment processors may apply their own handling charges. Sometimes an Australian online casino that accepts Neosurf provides a welcome bonus for new players. Payouts are done with MyNeosurf accounts, not the prepaid vouchers. You could face delays or deposit limits. It’s that simple and avoids sharing any banking info.

  125. Similarly to Paysafe, Neosurf offers vouchers that can be bought from your local shop or online. Neosurf does not require input of personal details and is accepted at all licensed online casinos that operate in Australia. The reason we cannot recommend this Aussie casino enough is its unique branding, long list of jackpot games, and 3D pokies with special features. Additional promo codes at Fair Go ensure your balance remains in the black. 126. Additional commonly used payment options are PayID, Paysafecard, Apple pay, Visa, Pay by Phone, Bitcoin, Google Pay. The other method must also be safe, fast and widely applicable. Since Neosurf does not provide withdrawal options, you may need an alternative. In order to decide on Neosurf casino and the deposit method itself, you need to carefully weigh everything. Choosing the right Neosurf Australian casino is very important for a safe and profitable gaming experience.

  129. Some Australians use prepaid vouchers like this to keep online spending separate from their main bank account. Neosurf vouchers are available in fixed amounts, making it easier to manage spending and stick to a set budget. As a low-stakes player, I like that neosurf casino australia keeps deposits simple and controlled. The appeal of https://parenteducatorforum.com/parent-educator-forum-home/topic/play-pokies-with-neosurf-australia-essential-guide/ neosurf sits in controlled spending and prepaid convenience. Australian players usually want three things quick deposits, fair games, and payouts that do not feel like a hostage negotiation. Some of the top Neosurf casinos in Australia include FairGo, Playfina, StayCasino, and Rocket.

  133. Yes, there are a few caveats regarding withdrawals, but this is the lesser of two evils given the complexity of the gaming landscape for Aussie punters. In second place are Visa and MasterCard casinos; they have the edge over vouchers in terms of versatility, and many players are simply more accustomed to using them. There is another drawback to Australian online casinos accepting Neosurf that high rollers should bear in mind. Casino Neosurf only accepts deposits; to withdraw funds, you’ll need to find an alternative. Thousands of online pokies Neosurf, hundreds of live tables, dozens of crash games and arcade games – all of these become eligible for real-money betting as soon as you redeem your voucher. This payment method makes it possible to play absolutely every type of game available at gambling clubs.
